Follow the rules of the BMP (Bonaire Marine Park)

The rules of the Bonaire Marine Park are designed to protect Bonaire’s unique and fragile marine ecosystems.

These regulations are essential to preserve Bonaire’s natural beauty and ensure a safe boating experience.

  • Do not go between the yellow moorings and the shore. Use only the yellow moorings!
    Stay out of the light blue waters.
  • Only one boat per mooring is allowed.
  • Stay at least 50 meters / 150 feet away from the coast, other boats and boats with divers.
  • it is not allowed to beach the boat.
  • it is not allowed to enter the plaza marina.
  • Diving with a rental boat is prohibited.
  • Do not tie up at any pier or hotel.
  • The driver must not consume alcohol or drugs while operating the boat.
  • Be cautious of fishing boats that are trawling.
  • The maximum speed allowed in the Harbour Villiage Marina is 5 mph.
