Rules & Regulations for Rentals

Boat Rental Guidelines in Bonaire

Welcome to Bonaire! Before you embark on your nautical adventure, it's important to

familiarize yourself with a few key rules and regulations set forth by the

Bonaire Marine Park (BMP) to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Marine Conservation Compliance

Marine Tag Required by Law

Prior to setting sail, please ensure you have obtained a Stinapa Marine Tag, which is mandatory by law and supports

conservation efforts and provides you access to the waters around Bonaire.

Use Designated Moorings:

For the protection of our coral reefs, anchor only at the yellow moorings provided

and avoid the area between these moorings and the shoreline.

Safe Boating Practices

Minimum Age for Boat Rentals

The minimum age for renting a boat with Blue Bay Bonaire is 21.

Keep Your Distance:

Maintain a minimum distance of 50 meters (150 feet) from the coast,

other vessels, and diving boats to ensure safety for all. Steer clear of light blue waters,

which are sensitive ecological zones.

Speed Limits:

Adhere to a speed limit of 8 kph (5 mph) within the Harbour Village Marina

to protect marine life and ensure the safety of all marina users.

No Boat-Beaching:

Do not beach your boat or tie it to any piers or hotels. This helps prevent damage to both

your vessel and our pristine shoreline.

Prohibited Activities

No Diving from Rental Boats:

For your safety and to preserve our marine environment,

diving from rental boats is not permitted.

Alcohol and Drugs Policy:

Operating boats under the influence of alcohol or drugs is
